Session Description:

The future of mobility will involve a radical shift from privately owned car dependency, and the current high mode share associated with it, towards more diverse and integrated mobility solutions. In other words, the future of mobility will consist of diversification and digitalisation of a variety of mobility services. A key enabler of this future is the smooth integration of diverse journey planning tools in order to make multimodal alternatives visible to travellers. The OJP4Danube, LinkingAlps, EU-Spirit and Ride2Rail projects are contributing to this integration, but with different architectural approaches, different data sharing protocols and variable definitions, ands well as with different use-case scenarios. The goal of this special interest session is therefore to take a step back and bring forward clarity about unfolding integration challenges based on the experiences of these key projects.

Thinking ahead now of the future challenges in pursuing travel planning integration is key to achieving a future in line with social and environmental goals, which this submission session intends to address, at a time where both OJP4Danube and Ride2Rail projects are still being developed and future follow-up projects are still at their inception.
